How Can I Use the Internet in My Classroom?

Question 4: What grants might be available to help me purchase hardware, software to use the Internet in my classroom?

Teachers are always looking for money to implement exciting projects. Corporations are often looking for a tax deduction. Use the list of sites below to access some of the money that's available.

Tips:

  • Be sure you follow the application's directions
  • Have a colleague or someone unfamiliar with your idea read your proposal to see if it makes sense.
  • Have a "catchy" title.
  • Know and use the "buzz-words"
  • Be sure it can be easily implemented in other areas.
  • Send your proposal in on time.
  • Don't forget to check with your main district office for help writing a grant. Many districts now employ a person for just this task.
